Itinerary:
With the spring thaw, it's time to get out your Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) units and treasure hunt again! Geocaching is a phenomenon borne out of the recent availability of affordable GPS units. People all over the globe participate by hiding "caches", and posting their GPS coordinates on the internet. Caches can consist of simple boxes full of trinkets to more elaborate incarnations such as the one we will attempt today. The "Edmonton Multi Micro" consists of several board game- themed caches hidden around the city. Each contains essential clues that help pinpoint the location of the final "Game Over" cache. To make things more interesting, we will have to supply even more clues in the form of board games (see below). To find out more about what a geocache is, check out geocaching.com

We will meet at Timmie's on 99th St. bright and early to work out our strategy and down some wake-up coffees. We will then split into two groups to find the first 5 caches (one led by Jason and his GPS and one led by Shirley and hers). These caches will be tiny - they don't call them micros for nothing! But wait, it's not as easy as simply finding wee camouflaged film canisters in the forest and compiling the info!

After we have all of the info from all 5 sites (keep looking till you find them!), we will convene at the EOC fundraiser barbecue for lunch and the solving of the "Game Over" puzzle (please also sign up for the barbecue fundraiser!). To solve the puzzle, we need you to bring the following board games with you, complete with instructions/rules:

a standard, Atlantic City version of Monopoly
a game of dominoes (esp. the rules!)
Risk (Parker Bros.)
Battleship (Milton Bradley)
and knowledge of what constitutes a potential 'bower'.

If we cannot get all of these things, we will not be able to solve the puzzle. However, if we do, the whole crew will head out after lunch to find the final geocache. Mission accomplished!
