Itinerary:
We will depart from Edmonton at 1pm on Friday after-noon and travel to the Lake Louise area for the weekend. I am not making any campground reservations. Ideally we will drive down hwy 93 towards Lake Louise in hopes of securing a couple tentsites at Mosquito Creek CG for the weekend. Hence the early Friday after-noon departure.

I have chosen Bow Peak and Panorama Ridge which are mostly hikes but do involve some easy rated scrambling. As such, I may contact you in order to evaluate your experience and comfort levels with such trips. I have included online trip reports for each trip from a fellow hiker and you will note the distance and elevation for each trip by clicking on the link and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Detailed route descriptions for each are readily available in guidebooks. I have not done these trips before but am familiar with the area. However, please have patience for any routefinding issues. Note as well that each trip requires a brief water crossing. As such you must bring appropriate stream crossing footwear such as crocs, sandals, or water shoes as noted on the "required items to bring list". Hiking poles would also be an asset but are not required.

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the trip either difficulty or logistics.

Saturday we will depart for Morraine Lake and hike/scramble Panorama Ridge. Please refer to the following online trip report for further reference.

Sunday we will hike/scramble Bow Peak. Please refer to the following online trip report for further reference.

Regarding money, food and gear. I have a nice 3-man tent so a second tent of similar size should do it. Please advise if you have a tent to bring and share. I generally go on my own in terms of food and cooking but am certainly okay on people cooking together. Breakfast x2 and dinner x2 will be at the campground. Lunches x2 will be on the trail. Sunday dinner will be in Rocky or Red Deer. As far as money and trip costs are concerned, no prior payment is to be made however this trip still requires money to be paid out. We will pay the campground fees upon arrival and will divide the cost amongst the group. Figure anywhere from $20 to $40 for the weekend including firewood. Also note the car pool gas money as well and any other out of pocket expenses like snacks or dinner on Sunday on our return to Edmonton. There is a fee for entrance into the national park. I do have one annual group pass so a second should suffice but please be prepared to pay the entry fee of ~$10/person/day.
