West Edmonton ravine explorer (6/11/2011)

Itinerary:
Meet at NE corner of Valley Zoo parking lot (accessed off Buena Vista Road) at 10:00am, for a 10:15am start.

We will head north along the west side of the river, and explore the following ravines:

Melton Ravine as far as 138 Street

Mackenzie Ravine as far as 142 Street

MacKinnon Ravine as far as 149 Street

Ramsey Ravine under 102 Avenue, into the Glenora area

Once we have checked out the ravines, we will continue on a loop back to the start point, via Groat Bridge, Hawlerak Park and the Buena Vista Footbridge.

Estimated duration 2.5 - 3.0 hrs max.

Although this hike is generally classed as a "moderate" one, there are some steeper sections along the way.
