Glacier Lake is 8.9 km one way. The trail has an elevation gain of 210 m followed by a 220 m elevation loss. It is a popular early season hike. The trail departs from a trailhead north of Saskatchewan Crossing on the Icefields Parkway and ends at a campsite at one of the largest backcountry lakes in Banff National Park.

Once we arrive at our destination we will set up camp and relax. On Saturday we will spend the day exploring the area. On Sunday we will packup camp, have brunch and then head back out to our cars.

Before heading back to Edmonton we can stop for a bite to eat in Nordegg.

The group will meet at the trail head at 12:30 and be reading to hike at 1 p.m. July 1.
