We will meet at the carpool spot and drive to Muskeg Creek near Athabasca. For the map of the area, copy and paste the following into your browser. http://www.athabascacountry.com/maps/MuskegCreek.pdf

This will be a day trip

we will drive approximately an hour and a half north to the town of Athabasca. There we will explore and hike about 10 km of the Muskeg Creek Trail System. During the hike we will stop for lunch, and return to Edmonton that afternoon, with the option of stopping in Athabasca for something to eat on the way home.

Athabasca is 130 km north of Edmonton on highway 2. The Muskeg Creek Trail System is in the town of Athabasca.

The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $75.40 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, April 25, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
