Note: This event is for experienced skiers and snowboarders only! Once you have registered, please book a bed at the hostel (details below), and e-mail me at bobobobo@gmail.com to confirm that you've booked it. If you're offering to drive, please also specify how many passengers, including equipment, you're able to take. If I do not receive confirmation about your hostel booking within 48 hours of registration, your registration will be cancelled. Please also review the required items list for the expenses associated with this event.

Say farewell to winter with one last day of skiing and snowboarding blue and black runs at Sunshine Village in Banff National Park!

We're meeting at 5:45 PM at the Park & Ride at Century Park for a 6:00 PM departure to Banff. Please note that this event is carpool only, therefore no one will be permitted to meet at the event.

We will spend the night at the Banff Alpine Centre Hostel. The cost for a shared dorm bed, including GST, at the hostel is $29.75 for HI members and $33.75 for non-HI members.

You are responsible for booking your own bed. Please book with the hostel at 1.866.762.4122 (Toll Free) when you register for this event.

After we check in, those who wish can join me for some pub & grub in the Banff townsite.

Saturday morning we'll leave the hostel at 8:30 AM to enjoy a full day of skiing, ending at 4:30. We will head to Canmore for dinner before driving back to Edmonton.

Required Items to Bring:
$29.75 for 1 night stay at Banff Alpine Centre for HI members, $33.75 for non-members
Ski pass or $80 payment for lift ticket
National Park Pass or $9.80 for a Parks Canada day pass
All your ski gear: Skis, snowboard, poles, boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, hat, snow pants, jacket.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take highway 2 south to Calgary. After passing Airdrie, turn right and head west on Stoney Trail until it intersects with highway 1. Drive west on highway 1 to Banff where we'll meet at the HI Banff Alpine Centre. Detailed directions to the hostel are available here.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $232.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Monday, May 6, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
