Itinerary:
This world renowned trail takes hikers to some of the best scenery in the province. Beyond Kinney Lake, the trail enters the valley of a thousand falls. Fed by Mist, Berg, and Robson glaciers, visitors often see and hear huge chunks of glacier ice break off into the blue green lake.

OUR HIKE IS 12km. Although the hike to Berg Lake camp is a strenuous 21 km and 800 m net gain from the trailhead parking lot, we are hiking ONLY to WHITEHORN, which is approx 12 km. We will camp at Whithorn Campground for 1 night and the first night at the campsite across the road from the trailhead. Whitehorn is about halfway to Berg Lake, at km 12, and although it is a net elevation gain of about 300 m, theres lots of up and down to get there. We will camp at Whitehorn, near the river, after hiking through the beautiful rainforest! The plan is to meet at a location on the south side of Edmonton approx 4:00 pm, earlier if the group will agree, and carpool to Mt Robson on Friday night where we will camp at Robson Camground on the side of the highway. Saturday morning, after check in and picking up our passes at the info center, we will hike the 12 km, past the turqoise waters of Kinney Lake, through the valley of a thousand falls to Whitehorn, were we will camp for 1 night. Sunday we will pack up hike back out and drive home.

Depending on how long it takes us to get to Whitehorn, after we set up camp we can do a jaunt up to Emperor Falls on saturday, or on Sunday morning before heading out, or just relax at the campsite.

I have done this trip before in the above fashion and it is a nice hike, and worth the extra time and distance for the amazing scenery and back country camp experience. There will be a pretrip meeting to decide tent partners, food, and other details. Date and time TBC. Please indicate if you have a tent or stove.

Please sign up on the wait list, and I will contact you to discuss experience and expectations for the hike.

This is an amazing hike and worth the additional effort to get there.
