Write Up:
We had a nice day for hiking - it started around freezing with overcast skies, but warmed up as we travelled. By the end it had begun to get almost too warm! All in all, good conditions for active exercise.

However, the trails were slippery and ice-covered in spots, and there was much comparison of the various styles of cleats we owned, immediately followed by practical tests to see which ones worked best. The sections from the Royal Glenora up to Victoria Trail were icy, as were all the river valley trails, so the cleats proved valuable. Only a few slips and falls for those who went without, though, and no injuries.

Just a typical urban hike, in most respects - good company and good conversation, and a few more kilometers of exercise in the fresh air. Afterwards, a few people adjourned to MEC to try to find new cleats for their boots. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We look forward to seeing you next time.
