Write Up:
We hiked the best kept secret in the Edmonton river valley coined by locals as "Ewok Village". This is a network of trails along the South East forested slope just below McNally High School. We then hiked under the Dawson bridge and traveled along the even gravel trails around Riverside Golf Course. We kept a steady hiking pace through some newly discovered forested trails, up steep inclines, down challenging slopes and hidden gullies. The route was finished by a long hike up the hill on the paved multi-use trail back to McNally. Looking forward to more exploration and urban hike conditioning events in the future. A few of us enjoyed some "pop" and Wednesday wing night at the Hilltop Pub afterwards.
