The 7 of us had a very enjoyable hike starting off at the Waskehegan Staging Area in the Cooking Lake – Blackfoot Provincial Park. I'm sure happy we had another lucky day of blue sky and sun with a temperature of +26C!

We headed out along the Lost Lake trail followed by the Waskehegan before stopping for lunch at Meadow Shelter. After we headed off to Don’s Way then back into the trees along the Spruce Hollow and Neon Lake trails.

We saw lots of different types of butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, frogs, and we were lucky enough to see a female moose and some saw her calf! I’ve now seen 3-4 moose along Don’s Way in the past and really happy that my group saw one again today!

We went approximately 15km and took 4.5 hours including the 30 mins for our lunch.

Thanks everyone for coming out with me!
