Write Up:
Despite the cold, we had another wonderful ski! We skied the Shirley Lake trail at Elk Island National Park, about 13 km in total. After a couple of hours of skiing, we had a brief and chilly stop for lunch at the Oster Lake campsite, then continued along the trail for another couple of hours, and back to the parking lot. The trail was a little rougher in parts than we expected, thanks to buffalo footprints, but we persevered and had fun. We virtually had the trail to ourselves, seeing as many people as we did buffalo (2). Thanks to everyone for coming out!
