Friday - Once we all finally arrived, we met up at Explorer's Lounge in the Lake Louise Inn to do some socializing & some of us were brave enough to do some dancing to techno music!
Saturday
- Sandie, Ryan, Amulya, & Saeed snowshoed in wet, heavy snow up to Lake Agnes which was 385m elevation gain in 3.4 km one way. The views were absolutely lovely - looking at the lake & the surrounding mountains!
- Susan, Alina, Colleen, & El cross-country skiied the Fairview loop starting from the Lake Louise parking lot. What a fantastic day. We even managed to find a place in the sun to eat lunch. The conditions were awesome and the views spectactular. The fresh snow was a challenge to wax for - lucky El, she had waxless skis.
- Allison, Janie, Jen, & Michael had an exceptional day of downhill skiing at Sunshine Village with ideal snow conditions after the fresh snow overnight.
- A few people went out on the lake to go skating & to view the ice sculptures in the afternoon & evening. Later on after dinner at the hostel, a large group of us played some interesting & rather "hairy" card games!
Sunday
- Sandie, Ryan, Amulya, Allison, Janie, Jen, & Michael snowshoed, except for Saeed who hiked, up to Fairview Lookout which was 100m elevation gain in 1 km one way. Once we got there, we overlooked Chateau Lake Louise & the lake with the ice skaters.
- Susan, Alina, Colleen, & El cross-country skiied at Pipestones. The conditions were not as good as Saturday, and it was a little more challenging. We ended our event and when back to the hostel. After leaving Susan at the hostel, Colleen, El and Alina decided to get in one more skate on the lake before heading home.
