The Hills and Drills series of conditioning hikes are designed to put you through your paces as a prerequisite for weekends exploring various hiking trails around the Mountain Parks. Everyone is welcome even if you are not interested in backpacking, although these hikes will be at a brisk pace with some steeper hills and rough trails.
This week we are hiking the forested trails through Gold Bar and Goldstick Park. We might also travel along the single track trails all the way to Strathcona Science Park depending on the weather and trail conditions. Click HERE for more info on Edmonton's River Valley System and Parks.

Please click HE RE for more info and tips on beginner backpacking and hiking.

We will meet at Gold Bar parking lot at 6:50 PM leaving right at 7:00 PM Sharp.
Be sure to bring water and if need be, trail mix, power bars, to keep hydrated and energized during the hike.
Please check your emails the day of the event in case of any weather warnings, or special weather considerations.

Dogs are welcome on this hike, however they must be *leashed because there is no off-leash area where we are going. If you are bringing your dog(s) please note this when you sign up for the event.
