Itinerary:

**NOTE: Please read all details in red below re: all COVID-19 group precautions before signing up!

**We will be enforcing social distancing throughout the hike. Anyone who is not acting in accordance with COVID safety requirements will be warned once. If non- compliance continues, they will be asked to leave the activity!

**Please note:
- I am only going to have 8 people max including myself on this event.
- This will be a moderately paced walk of ~4.5-5km/hr.
- This event will be weather dependent, please check the EOC calendar and your email for any updates.

About this walk: ~14-15km, ~3-3.5 hours including a 15-20 minute lunch break
There are almost 85km of hiking trails at Cooking Lake/Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, so let's check out some of the trails accessed from the Islet Lake Staging Area Day Use trailhead!

We will hike along the Highline, Lost Lake, Porcupine, and Siksika trails then have our 15-20 minute lunch/snack break at a picnic area. We will then continue along the Hare, Lost Lake, Porcupine, and Push Lake trails back to the parking lot. (Click HERE for the trail map.)

**RE: COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:
All activities are being offered in full compliance with current provincial and federal COVID standards. We will practice being socially distanced (6 feet / 2 meters apart) while participating on this event and step off the trail / path briefly to let others pass safely.

Additional requirements:
1. Create social space.
• Avoid skin-to-skin contact just share a friendly wave and 'hello'.
• Blow your nose, cough, sneeze, or clear your airway at least 2m away from others.
• Wear a mask in public places to help limit the risk of spread to others if you will be within 2m apart.
**The government has indicated that masks help. Therefore, we are leaving it to the discretion of participants to choose whether you'd like to wear masks during the event.

2. Are you feeling unwell?
If you have a cough or flu-like symptoms, stay home and consider getting yourself tested by calling 8-1-1 - see the AHS link above.

3. Other notes:
Please do not attend if you have recently travelled to any location that has an active COVID-19 travel advisory OR you know or suspect you have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

- ESSENTIAL: Appropriate footwear & clothing (running shoes not recommended)

- A seat / cushion to sit on for your lunch / snack break (inflatable works well)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:We will park at the Islet Lake Staging Area on the south side of the park.
Islet Lake is about 25km east of Sherwood Park.
From the Sherwood Park Freeway (aka Hwy #630 then Wye Road), turn north at Range Road #200 - you’ll see a blue Alberta Park sign for Central Lake / Islet Lake.
