Itinerary:
Winter Walk Day is a province-wide initiative to get Albertans up and moving during the chilly winter months. Winter Walk Day celebrates our Alberta winter while promoting the year-round health benefits of walking. More than 800 organizations and 100,000 Albertans took part in 2019!

We will start out at the Royal Glenora Club at 7:00 PM sharp, go above Victoria Park, cross the river at Groat Road, pass Emily Murphy & Kinsmen Parks. We will then cross the Walterdale Bridge & head back towards the parking lot.

We'll be meeting in the gravel parking lot on the East side of the Royal Glenora Club. Mark will have a blue EOC cap hanging on the antenna of his car so you can recognise him.
The stairs nearby are a favourite among stair climbers because they are challenging, wide & offer a great view of the river valley. We will only be doing the stairs once in the beginning. After we return to the parking lot if you want extra exercise, you can go up & down the stairs as many times as you want :)

Difficulty: the walk will be at a "moderate-brisk" pace (approx 5km/h)
This urban hike will be about 9 km, with some icy sections.

Dogs are welcome on this hike, however they must be leashed because there is no off-leash area where we are going. If you are bringing your dog(s) please note this when you sign up for the event.
