Itinerary:

We will start our hike at the Whitemud Nature Reserve parking lot before Snow Valley ski hill and proceed south towards 23 Ave, where we will make a circuit and continue back along the main double wide path through a very scenic forest in the nature reserve ravine. **Please be aware with wintry weather, the trail could be slippery in some sections.

Required Items to Bring:
- Water
- Wear appropriate clothing and Winter footwear
- Snacks if you feel you might need it
- Headlamp or flashlight
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
  • Poles, if you need to have some balance on hills
  • Hiking cleats for ice and snow traction
  • Gaitors

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:Take the Whitemud Drive.
    Turn South onto 119 St. Then turn west (first right off 119 St) onto Rainbow Valley Rd, which has a sign labeled Whitemud Park. Take this road to the first parking lot on the left before you go under the bridge . This is the start of the event. If you find yourself at Snow Valley Ski Hill you have gone to far on Rainbow Valley Road.

    Look for Mark with a blue Edmonton Outdoor club hat.
