Itinerary:
Come join the EOC for an information session from Shannon Werner with Avalanche Canada.
**The talk starts at 6:45 PM, but meet at 6:30 PM. 60-75 minute presentation, up to two hours allows an outdoor session with avalanche rescue training.

On October 25th at 6:45 PM, come learn about Avalanche Safety, **New location: Meet in Mark's social room, 1320 Rutherford Road SW, call Mark at 780-777-3071 to get buzzed in.

Here's what the session is about:

Activities in an avalanche zone require extra safety precautions. Learn proper preparation and planning, as well as hear some personal experiences and best practises for exploring the outdoors in any terrain.
What the presentations entail:

  • Very good, strong, fun interactive presentations including the latest videos, slides and information
  • Curriculum covering grade- specific ski hill, snowmobile, snowshoeing and backcountry safety. Presenting research facts and hand on activities with prizes!
  • Student based training with avalanche rescue equipment, transceivers, probes and shovels.
  • Materials for all students to take away and interactive online resources.

    Please make sure you find Mark at the end of the presentation so he knows you were in attendance, otherwise you will receive an automatic “No Show” – see our Cancellation Policy for further info.
