As we will be ascending mountains on most trails. Ensure you have a good level of fitness and are able to do 3-4 hrs hours of snowshoeing on uphill ascents and an additional 1-2 hours on the way down.

This is a beautiful and scenic area. The first two hikes are rated as the top hikes in the area. The third day is a hidden treasure hike before heading back to Edmonton.
Day 1 Friday - Rummel Lake (10km) and Hogarth lake (optional: 4km- easy and quite flat)
Day 2 - Chester lake (9.2 km) Elevation gain 300 metres and there is a couple of short steep areas.
Day 3- Harvie Heights before heading for home (optional). Maybe Bragg Creek as time and weather conditions allows;

Trails may change depending on weather/trail conditions.

The ACC Boswell Cabins are located 4.5 km east of Canmore. Each cabin can accommodate up to six people in two separate rooms. There is one double bed and one single bed in each room. There also is a fold-out couch on the main floor of each side if needed for snorers or other issues. Shared kitchens and washroom/showers on each side of the cabin.
Also, we will have full access to the main lodge which has fireplace, sitting area and games room. About ACC hostel: bedding will be provided and sleeping bags are NOT permitted.
Bring your own food for weekend. A potluck dinner may be organized if there is interest.

**To register you must first add your name to the waiting list, then pay the cost directly to the event coordinator via e- transfer to The security question is "what is the name of the cabin we are staying in? answer is 'Boswell'. Once full payment has been received, your name will be moved over to the registration list regardless of where you are on the waiting list.

All meals will be the responsibility of participants.
The hostel also has free WiFi, a games room and TV for those interested. There will be a pre-meeting scheduled Thursday February 15th at 6:30 pm at the Bonnie Doon Professional Centre SUITE 221. 82 ave and 83 street.This is located at the Bonnie Doon Mall. Easiest access is through the doors at "Stitches" bathe go upstairs. We really want everyone there to figure out driving, meals and room assignments. And a general overview of what to bring and expect.

Required Items to Bring:
Snowshoes, poles, snow boots or hiking boots, appropriate warm clothing - wear layers, gators knapsack, water bottle, cleats, gaiters, toiletries, etc.
Food/beverages for all meals. Full kitchen
Recommended Items to Bring:

Flashlight or headlight. Ziploc bags for lunches, treats, snacks, games, etc.

The ACC Clubhouse and Boswell Cabin are 4.5 km east of Canmore, just off Hwy 1A. From the TransCanada Highway take the 1A exit (#91) and travel east approximately 1 km to Indian Flats Road (turn left), continue on the road to the top of the hill. You must park in the two lower lots near the clubhouse but can drop off your gear by driving up to the Boswell cabin and adjacent to the Bell Cabin).

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $368.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.23, effective Tuesday, July 17, 2018). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

There is one double bed and one single bed in each room.
We will attempt to place same gender in rooms.
coordinators may contact you to discuss your skill and fitness level to ensure you can do these hikes if you have not attended any of our events.

Additional $73 if in carpool.
* Note you will need to take Friday off work. (Cost also Includes small coordinator's administration fee. As allowed per EOC policy for overnight trips which require more time and planning)
