Itinerary:
It is time to get ready for the backcountry. We will start in the city for our first of several weekends of hiking.

If you are new to backpacking start with a full daypack. If you are a experienced backpacker challenge yourself.

We will meet at Emily Murphy Park and hike toward Fort Edmonton Park and return (approximately 12 KM). Conditions could be icy so be sure to pack your ice cleats.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Please use google maps for Emily Murphy Park from your start location for specific directions.

The park is on the south side of Groat Bridge, east of Groat Road. Take the parks exit off Groat Road then follow the signs to Emily Murphy Park. Drive into the park and turn left at the river. We meet in the parking lot next to the Groat Road Bridge.
