Itinerary:
As the weather forecast appears to be quite reasonable, lets head out on Sunday for a nice urban hike!

Please note that this is a bit longer than most of the hikes I have done recently, and there are a few steeper gradients to deal with.
Although we will have regular short breaks, "slowpokes" may find this hike a little bit on the long side, and they should look out for shorter/easier hikes that I will be posting soon.

Also, please keep an eye on your emails and the weather forecast, in case of any nasty surprises with the weather causing us any issues!

Meet at 11:30am for a 11:40 departure in the parking lot at the Muttart Conservatory, and I will be standing by a grey Hyundai wagon and wearing a yellow EOC cap so you can recognise me.

We will cross the footbridge over 98 Avenue, and head up the trail through Cloverdale into Forest Heights Park.
Continue NE along the trail to Rowland Road, then down the hill towards and across Dawson Bridge.
On the north side of the river, we will continue east from Dawson Park as far as the Wayne Gretzky Bridge, cross the WGB and then return along the south side of the river via the trail on the south side of Riverside Golf Course.
This will take us back to Forest Heights from where we return via the same route to the meeting place.

Note that there is a long-ish steady hill up from Cloverdale to Forest Heights Park, as well as one or two steep-ish hills on the south side of Riverside Golf Course.
I would like to keep a reasonably brisk pace on this hike (although we will have some short breaks along the way), so please bear this in mind!

This is a "dog friendly" hike - ie. dogs are permitted on this one.
Dog owners - if you are bringing your dog(s), when you are registering, please include them, so that they also appear on the publicly-viewable list of attendees.

You will also need to dress for the conditions and it recommended that you have ice grips / traction devices for your footwear in case of any remaining slippery sections.
