Itinerary: | |||||||
Come and Dragon Boat with your Outdoors Club! Practices will be twice a week, hopefully Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening, and we will be participating in the Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival, August 21-23, 2009! About 20 of last years crew of 30 has signed back up again, but we need new faces, especially of the male variety! We need a minimum of 8 males, and a minimum of 8 females to race, and last year we had only 9 guys. Guys, this is your big chance!! We are considering travelling to other Dragon Boat Festivals as well, possibly Lethbridge, or Kelowna, but this will be decided as a team as the dates get closer, and will require more money from those wanting to go. Your $110.00 will buy you 22 one-hour practices on the lovely North Saskatchewan River, attendance at the Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival, and an awesome group T-shirt, quick dry polyester and being designed as you read this! New paddlers must attend a mandatory orientation session. Oh, and we need a drummer, if you know anyone who'd like to go along for the ride, and who has some sense of rhythm! Paddlers must attend at least 50% of practices, to be considered for paddling in any festival. Please note that you need to be committed, and flexible for Dragon Boating. We had high water and rescheduled practices and lightning and one tornado warning to contend with last year. But we really had fun!! | |||||||
