Itinerary:

The Edmonton Camino will be a series of nine walking stages over nine consecutive Saturdays in September and October. We will be walking from the northeast corner of the city and continue along the North Saskatchewan River valley to Terwillegar Park, where we end on Saturday, October 31st. The Camino de Edmonton is a series of loops up the river valley from the northeast to the southwest. We are doing loops so that there is no need for any shuttling of cars. The total distance of all stages walked will be 100km, and yes there will be a credencial (pilgrim passport), stamps, and even a compostela for all participants. The compostelas will be presented at the Camino de Edmonton Autumn Gathering on Saturday, November 14th. We meet at the Terwillegar Park at 8:20 AM for an 8:30 AM start and travel to the Fort Edmonton Bridge. During September and October, you can walk one or two stages, or all nine of them, depending on your availability and determination. NB: If you are unable to come and pick up your credential on Sept. 5th, you can come on any other Saturday and pick it up.

This hike will be at a moderate pace for approx. 10.6 km We will take a mixture of paved and unsurfaced trails.

Note that dogs are very welcome on this hike; please note City of Edmonton bylaws re on- leash/off-leash areas.
