Canada Day Potluck, Hike, & Fireworks (7/1/2010)

PRE-REGISTRATION & PAYMENT REQUIRED: Once you've reviewed the event details, and decided you'd like to join us, you MUST sign up at the bottom of this page. You will then make your payment for this event at the venue, NOT in advance to the EOC.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to read this page in its entirety before signing up. If you'd like to attend, we ask that you abide by our rules and procedures as a time/cost saving process (with an end result of keeping membership free and lower cost events).

Itinerary:

Potluck - held east of the Shaw Conference Center in Riverdale (address to be given later) - we will be inside & no BBQ available - sorry! There is a microwave though.
I will be supplying some dessert - sundaes with loads of toppings!

Hike - we will do an easy paced hike for about 1.5 hours & 6.2 km round trip heading west after the potluck to the Walterdale Bridge to view the waterfall at the High Level Bridge - good photo opportunities.
(If it's raining we won't go hiking, instead we'll play board games inside until 10:30pm then head over to watch the fireworks.)

Fireworks (they start around 11pm) - after our hike, we can get setup to watch the fireworks in Louise McKinney Park (just a 5 min walk west of the potluck location - there's a viewpoint for more photo opportunities.

Please note that I will supply paper plates, plastic cutlery, paper cups, & napkins.

After the hike / fireworks, I will need help cleaning the room that we are renting for the potluck.

Our actual event won't be starting until 5:30pm but for those who would like to come earlier to listen to live bands at Louise McKinney Park, I'm planning on heading over there around 2:30pm for a couple of hours or so - give me a call or text me!
