We will be attending a jazz concert at the Yardbird Suite, which is a non-profit society that showcases talented local and international Jazz and Blues musicians.

The show starts at 9pm, but I recommend that everyone try to come earlier so we can sit to socialize and have a drink (the bar is a CASH bar only). The doors and the bar open at 8pm. Please have dinner beforehand; there are only snacks foods available (popcorn, peanuts).

The group we will be seeing is the Marc Beaudin and The Counterfitz, from Edmonton. Also featuring many other talented local musicians.

The Counterfitz is a funk/jazz group. This band is an instrumental spin-off of the party band, The Retrofitz. Mixed with funkalicious rhythms and hip jazz sound, the band will perform new compositions and arrangements of Marc Beaudin. High energy tunes, riff-based with a mix of gritty and soulful melodic lines.

It will definitely be a rocking show! So be there!

Expected behaviour: because this is a concert venue, all participants of this event will be expected to sit and listen quietly. All cellphones will remain turned off or put on vibrate. There will, however, be time to socialize before the show and during intermission.
