Itinerary:
We will spend Family Day by skiing the Shirley Lake Trail at Elk Island National Park, with a stop along the way for lunch. The trail is approximately 13 km long, and is fairly flat with only a few small hills. Check out the Elk Island National Park website for more information.

If you don't have skis, one option for renting them is Mountain Equipment Co-op. For more info, see their website. Totem Outfitters also rents out cross-country skis.

National Parks Pass (if you have one) or park entrance fee ($7.80)
Warm clothing appropriate to the weather
Lunch and snacks

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Elk Island National Park is located approximately 40 minutes from Edmonton, via Highway 16 East (Yellowhead). To reach the trailhead, follow the Elk Island Parkway to Tawayik Lake Road, turn right and follow the road 1 km to the parking lot.

Notes:
- I'm not setting up a formal carpool for this event, but will help members set up carpool arrangements if needed. If you need a ride, or would like to share rides to Elk Island Park, please let me know by Friday Feb. 13th.

- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
