Itinerary:

Students' Association of MacEwan University is hosting a SAMU Speaker Series: Travel Edition - ADVENTURE AWAITS! Experience wanderlust and exploraton with an evening of all things travel. Connect with local vendors about their products and services and then listen to two great speakers.

We begin with bestselling author, tourism expert and global adventurer, Robin Esrock. Having explored over 100 countries on 7 continents, Esrock helps us break through the personal and professional boundaries that often stand in our way. He speaks on the challenges of innovation, transformation, recognizing potential and achieving Big Hairy Audacious Goals. Drawing on his fascinating adventures, Esrock inspires audiences with stunning visuals and stories alongside positive, practical strategies.

Headlining the evening, we will have National Geographic photojournalist Ami Vitale. Vitale has lived in mud huts and war zones, contracted malaria, and donned a panda suit- all in keeping with her philosophy of "living the story." She has traveled to more than 90 countries, bearing witness not only to violence and conflict, but also to surreal beauty and to the enduring power of the human spirit. Recently, she has turned her lens to compelling wildlife stories, such as returning critically endangered captive born species, like the giant pandas back to the wild and attempts to save the last living northern white rhinos from extinction. Vitale's work has exhibited worldwide in museums, galleries, and private collections. She has garnered prestigious awards including multiple prizes from World Press Photo, the International Photography of the Year prize, the Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting and she has been named Magazine Photograoher of the Year by the National Press Photographer's Association.

Doors and exhibitors begin at 4:30 p.m. and the show starts at 5:30 p.m. The speakers will end around 7:30 p.m. and the exhibitors will be available again for the final hour. All ticket seating is based on first come, first seated.

***You will need to purchase your ticket in advance by clicking HERE. The Public General ticket price is $17.34.***

I plan on being there as it opens but I know some of you won't be able to get off work early. The first talk will start at 5:30PM and I would like us to all meet at 5:10PM then find seats at 5:15PM. To find me, I'll be carrying my royal blue EOC baseball cap and wearing my royal blue EOC fleece jacket.
