Green
Drinks is a networking event that is held
regularly in cities throughout the world. At
these events, people who share an interest in
the environment, sustainability and living
green meet and interact with each other. In
Edmonton, Green Drinks events are organized by
The Local
Good, and the Edmonton Green Drinks are
generally organized around a particular topic.
In February, the Green Drinks topic will be Winter in YEG. Discussions will be about winter festivals in Edmonton, playing outside, and engaging in community activities in order to make winter more enjoyable. Expect Green Drinks to be very informal: throughout the evening, we'll mingle with other Green Drinks attendees and chat one-on-one or in small groups. This will be an excellent opportunity to tell other Edmontonians all about the EOC. And by chatting with others, we will also hopefully learn about other groups and winter activities in Edmonton. Green Drinks begins at 7 PM and will be held at the Yellowhead Brewery (in their event room). I have set the start time as 6:55 PM so that those of you who are knew can have a chance to find other EOCers; we will then head into the pub at 7. If you arrive after 7, look for the EOCers inside. I do not expect that the EOC group to stick together throughout the night; the point of Green Drinks is to meet new people, so we'll be breaking off into smaller groups inside. Tickets to attend Green Drinks cost $10.95 each and can be purchased in advance on-line. To find out more, and to purchase your ticket, visit the EventBrite page for this event. Note: ticket sales end at noon on February 3rd. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15 each (cash only). | |||||||
