Itinerary:

Vertically Inclined Rock Gym is a great indoor rock gym with plenty of space to climb on. They are equipped with top rope systems, lead climb areas and pulleys. They also offer lots of bouldering space for those not ready for ropes.

There is no predetermined structure to this activity. No previous experience is necessary for bouldering. You do need to have completed a belay check if you wish to use the top rope system on your own at VIRG. If you do not have a belay check but are still interested in top rope climbing, you may be able to take the Climbing Adventure drop-in program, which is offered every hour on the hour on weekends, and provides basic instruction in the top rope system. Please note: registration for the Climbing Adventure Program will not be organized by the EOC, and is subject to availability at VIRG. You will need a partner to participate in the Climbing Adventure program. If you are interested, please let me know in the "Notes" section when registering for this event, and I will try to facilitate pairing you up with someone, if this is possible. Please also note that the Climbing Adventure program does not give you sufficient instruction to take your belay check, which is required to use the top-rope system on your own at VIRG.

Prices for this event vary significantly depending on what you would like to do and what equipment you need to rent. Please see VIRG's rate schedule to see what you will need. They also offer multi-use punch passes if you plan to go regularly.
