Although we are currently experiencing perfect conditions for
geocaching, I was unable to find the Forest Heights Park caches
on my own and thus will need some help. Bring your dogs and
come help me find these tricky ones!
We will attempt to locate the "Coaster Cache", "CARW2007 Spruced View" and "Picture Perfect" cache. Coaster Cache is a place to exchange coasters from bars, so collect a few and bring them along, Spruced View is for small, high quality exchange items only, and Picture Perfect is a regular cache for dollar store goodies. For those not familiar with geocaching, please visit Geocaching.com for more information. It is a worldwide hobby where people hide boxes of trinkets and post their GPS coordinates for others to find. It's treasure hunting by GPS! The hike is all dirt trails, some of which are quite steep, with lots of big roots to trip you up. It will be somewhat strenous for some, so I've given it a more difficult rating. If it snows a little, it will be even tougher. If it snows a lot, it will become a snowshoe event, but not one for snowshoeing beginners! (snowshoes can be rented at MEC). There will also be some bushwacking involved when hunting for the caches, so keep this in mind. Dogs can run off leash, but please bring bags to scoop their poop. Pace will be moderate.

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | We will meet in the south parking lot of the Riverside Golf
Course. Park at the southernmost point, near the trail entrance.
I
drive a blue SUV and have a white husky cross dog. There is also
a picture of me on the volunteers page. From downtown, take Rowland Dr. across the bridge. First parking lot on your right is the golf course parking lot. From 75th St. or Wayne Gretzky Dr., head west on 106 Ave. Continue on to Rowland Rd. Turn left into the golf course parking lot at bottom of the hill before the bridge. View Larger Map
