Itinerary:
PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN BROUGHT FORWARD BY TWO DAYS FROM THURS 15 TO TUES 13 AUGUST.

Meet at the parking lot for Capilano Park at 6:15pm for a 6:25 start.
It is located on the south side of the river - drive north on 50 Street and just before you reach the river turn left into the park.
I will be standing by a grey Hyundai wagon and wearing a yellow EOC cap so you can recognise me.

We will start by crossing the Capilano footbridge, and then head west along the riverside trail, passing underneath the Wayne Gretzky Bridge, until we reach the foot of the Kinnaird Ravine.
From here we will head up a "goat trail" which brings us out by Jasper Avenue / 82 Street, from where there is a great view of the River Valley.
We will walk through a nice residential area and head down into the Kinnaird Ravine. There is an option of doing a set of stairs for extra exercise / torture if people wish.
We'll then head down the Ravine and rejoin the riverside trail as far as the Capilano Footbridge, before crossing over and returning to our cars.

Difficulty: we will walk at a "moderate/brisk" pace (approx 5km/h). Also, the "goat trail" is a steady climb, the stairs in the Kinnaird Ravine are substantial and there is a brief fairly steep climb on the return leg just before we reach the Capilano Footbridge.

Dogs are very welcome on this hike - if you are bringing your dog(s) please note this when you sign up for the event.
