Itinerary:
This UNGUIDED canoe trip will leave the Saunders Landing put in on Saturday and arrive in Rocky Mountain House Sunday afternoon. The group will be wilderness camping near the river and away from the road. The distance is 79 km and the group will be limited to 8 members.

This section of the North Saskatchewan river has rapids rated from class I to class III. Hazards include, but are not limited to sweepers, keepers, ledges and cold water all within a remote environmental setting.

Participants must have the needed experience and training for this trip. Members will be screened from the watiing list for this trip.

Required Items to Bring:
Safety equipment as outlined in the Transport Canada regulations, Canoe and paddling supplies, wilderness camping equipment, food and dry bags.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $87.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, April 18, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Notes:
Please only apply for the trip if you have experience paddling in class I-III rapids on a multiple day trip.
