Itinerary:
Come out and get a workout with a brisk river valley walk and burn off some of those winter blues and calories.

The hike will be a moderate distance, with perhaps one moderate set of stairs! We will maintain a moderate pace with a few stops after a moderate distance to rest if required. Did we mention this is a moderate hike aimed at those just getting out perhaps after an extended holiday season :-)

We will meet at 5:30 pm near the picnic shelter west of the pedestrian bridge in Capilano Park for a 5:45pm departure. Our route is very much dependant on the condition of the trails avaliable. With the goofey weather of the last few days ice, slush and standing water are of the most concern. That being said my partner on this one, Mae B, knows these trails very well and I am sure will not dissapoint. This will be a hike of easy to moderate ability.
Mae or Larry will be in the parking lot across from the picnic shelter. Look for the yellow EOC hat.

Required Items to Bring:
Weather appropriate clothing
Boots appropriate for slush and or ice (after all this is Edmonton)
Always a good idea to bring along ice cleats or yak trax
Water
Headlamp
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Hiking Poles, snacks to refuel if you so desire.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Head north on 50th street into the Capilano Park area.
Instead of turning right to the main parking area, continue north and take the next left. You will soon hit a dead end where you can park, and the picnic shelter is immediately to the north.
