Enjoy a moderate paced day hike in the Cooking Lake - Blackfoot Provincial Park from the Blackfoot Staging Area. The terrain is gently rolling hills and the fall colours should be in full bloom. The 97 square kilometre Recreational area contains forests, pastures and wetlands in glacial moriane terrain. Check out the Trail Map for more trail info.

We will hike approximately 13km-15km, depending on the group and the weather. The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling hills. We will stop at the half way point (back country Shelter) for some lunch. There are rest areas and toilets along the trails. Check out the Alberta Parks PDF for more info on the summer hiking trails, plus park guidelines and recommendations.

**Please note that we will be meeting up at the carpool location at Bonnie Doon Mall at 10:00am and leaving there at 10:15am SHARP! Our plan is to arrive at the Blackfoot Staging Area around 11:00am.**

Also please note that the duration mentioned above includes the travel time to get there as well. **If you have somewhere to be by mid afternoon, please do not sign up for this event as we might be later than expected.**
