Join me in Banff for a weekend of camping and hiking.
I have booked campsites at the Tunnel Mountain Village campground in Banff, where we will camp on the Friday and Saturday nights. On the Saturday (July 14) and Sunday (July 15) we will venture along some hiking trails near Banff. On the Saturday evening we will have dinner at a restaurant in Banff.
As for the hiking: on the Saturday we will hike the C-Level Cirque Trail (3.9 km one way; 455 m elevation gain; ~3-4 hours of hiking). Either later on Saturday or early on the Sunday we will stretch our legs further with a hike up to the summit of Tunnel Mountain (2.4 km one way; 260 m elevation gain; ~2 hours of hiking). On Sunday we will also hike the Johnston Canyon Trail, to the Ink Pots (5.4 km one way; 215 m elevation gain; ~4 hours round trip). A brief description of all three trails can be found on the Parks Canada website.

Practicalities
- I will attempt to set up carpool arrangements for those who need them. (As I live in Calgary, I will not be participating in the carpool). If you intend on carpooling, please let me know (preferably by e-mail) whether you need a ride and/or would be able to drive to Banff.
- Please let me know if you have any of the following which you are able to share with others in the group:
  • A tent -- if so please indicate how many people can sleep in the tent. (Also, please indicate whether you need me to partner you up with another participant or are already coming with a partner.
  • Camping stove
  • Tarp(s)
  • Any other camping supplies which you are wiling to share
    - This is a first-paid, first-get-on event. Payment is due immediately upon registration, or you will be moved to the waiting list. If you didn't pay and someone else on the waitlist did, they will get on before you! Any overbooking will be fully refunded.
    - Refunds after the cut off are not possible, but you can find a replacement and work out the payment amongst yourselves.
    - The maximum number of people for this trip is 8 (assuming maximum of two tents per site, with two people per tent).
    - Our hiking pace will be MODERATE (no slowpokes, no speed demons)
    - As of June 20th: there is still some snow at upper elevations along the C-Level Cirque Trail and a warning for potential avalanche conditions. I will be monitoring the trail conditions, and may change our itinerary if the danger persists.
