Itinerary:

This hike is a bit of a short-notice "experiment", to see if there is any interest in an occasional Sunday evening "post-supper" walk..

We will meet at 7:15pm, for a 7:25pm departure.

Meet at the parking lot at the NW end of Groat Bridge - see the directions below.
I will be wearing a yellow EOC cap, and standing by a grey Hyundai wagon.

We will then walk west along the MacKinnon Ravine trail, as far west as it goes (just short of 149 Street).
At that point, we will turn around and start heading back east along MacKinnon Ravine.
After we pass under the 142 St bridge, there is a flight of stairs that takes us up into Glenora (St. George's Crescent).
We will climb those stairs and enjoy the great views over the River Valley.
We will then continue through Glenora and across 102 Ave, to access Ramsey Ravine.
This will then bring us back into the River Valley, and back to the parking lot.

I estimate that this walk should be no longer than 2 hours. It should still be fairly light by the end of the walk, and the forecast is (currently!) OK.

Event Directions:

From Westmount - south on Groat Road, take the right lane for River Valley Rd, turn right into the parking lot before you go under the Groat Bridge.

From U of A - north on Groat Road, cross the bridge, exit right, right again, under the bridge then left into the parking lot.

From River Valley Rd - west under Groat Bridge then left into the parking lot.

Look for the coordinator wearing the yellow EOC ball cap.
