Itinerary:
If you are attending please ensure your bicycle is suitable. For example a Mountain bike or suitable bike with studded or knobby tires

We'll meet at the parking lot to the west of the intersection of Groat Rd and River Valley Rd. at 2:00 PM for a 2:15 PM sharp departure. This is our first pseudo spring ride, so we'll take it very easy, staying on the north shore of the river, following the river valley pathway. We'll ride for approximately 30 or 45 minutes and then turn back.

Please be prepared for cooler temperatures - we recommend a buff or toque under your helmet, gloves, socks... cycle booties if you have them. Also, you may want to use goggles if you have them.

Required Items to Bring:
Bicycle (heavy MTB tires, or studded tires there are icy patches, hence no street / racing tires allowed), helmet, smiles and good attitude.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Water, basic bike repair kit, weather appropriate clothing.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Westmount - south on Groat, take the right lane for River Valley Rd, turn right into the parking lot before you go under the Groat bridge.

From U of A - north on Groat, cross the bridge, exit right, right again, under the bridge then left into the parking lot.

From River Valley Rd - west under Groat bridge then left into the parking lot.

Notes:
I rode this on Thursday evening and the trails are clear and 95% packed snow & gravel for great traction with a few icy patches.
