Itinerary:
Have you ever gone on a day hike and found yourself stranded and unprepared? Have you found yourself on a hike that took you longer than anticipated--finding yourself hiking out late at night in the dark with out a flashlight, emergency blanket, extra food or water? Even if you have not found yourself in such situations there is always a first time--and you need to be prepared.

Van Konrad, an EOC member and a senior leader for the Alpine Club of Canada is an outdoor enthusiast, an avid mountaineer and an intrepid backcountry skier. He will share with us what emergency gear to take and why when hiking into the back country.

Van’s presentation will be interactive; he will share some stories and most importantly, he will answer questions from us. As outdoor enthusiasts we need to be prepared to handle any unplanned situations.
